This thread is all about battery power dealing with PVs or personal vaporizers. I will post some charts and other useful information about battery safety here. Excuss my mess up on the MVP vs VTR video! Vape On!

I have a question, maybe somebody here knows the answer. Max wattage and voltage on my mvp is 11w and 5v. Ok if I have a 1.6ohm coil, and I vape it at 5 volts, that puts me well over 11 watts. So what happens? It still vapes, so does it just max out and vape at 11 watts? Or since I set it to voltage mode, at 5 volts will it give me 5 volts, even if it goes higher than 11 watts? Or am I missin somethin totally obvious? Done it before lol. Thanks if anybody can explain this to me.

When the MVP hits its limit it stops regardless of the setting. I saw a chart awhile back, not sure who made it maybe pbusardo (he does good test charts), and the MVP output at 1.5 ohms always topped out at 3.9 volts no matter the voltage setting over that. So I am guessing with your 1.6 ohm coil it is stopping around 4.1 volts no matter what you set it to.

But I really appreciate it, really do. Glad I have help when I need it. Good part is I learned alot while lookin for that answer.

Ok so I have another question, and I've looked for this but couldnt get a definitive answer. I recieved my batteries and charger, but I'm wondering if I charge them before use, or do I use them till I need to charge them, or does it even matter? I want to take good care of my batts, and want to get the most life out of them as possible. Thanks for any help...

I want to take good care of my batts, and want to get the most life out of them as possible. Thanks for any help... Based on my past experience with using these style batteries in flashlights and now the higher amp ones for vaping, the first thing I would do is check the voltage output of them. The key with IMR batteries is to not overcharge them or over drain them. Fully charged they should be at 4.2 volts and nominal working should be 3.7. I have read they can go as low as 2.5 volts but I would not advise letting them go below 3 volts because you may tax your charger and the battery bringing them back up. I tend to just recharge based on how they are vaping and they usually are around 3.1/3.2 volts, not that I check them every time just every so often because I am odd like that . You will want to use a good charger, I think I remember you saying you were getting an intellicharger and vtc4's so you are good. When charging the batteries, even with a good charger, it is best to do it when you are going to be around and can check on the to pull them off when fully charged. I would also recommend marking them so you can track if you start to notice reduced performance from one over others and also so you can rotate usage evenly. May be over kill but I plan on replacing mine every year or so and moving the old ones to my flashlight stash.

Will be doing exactly that, just gotta get my vmeter back from my buddy, I don't have my mech yet so I have a lil while. Ill be marking them now though.
